Linsey Griffith has been a birth professional for over 10 years. and has attended over 200 births. She is a compassionate and experienced Doula, Childbirth Educator and Placenta Encapsulator. She completed Labor Doula training with DONA in 2007 & 2017 and with ToLabor in 2015. She is currently certified with DONA. She certified with HypnoBirthing International in 2013 and trained with Childbirth International in Childbirth Education in 2011. She is trained with IPPA for Placenta Encapsulation and DONA for Postpartum Doula. She is also Rebozo and TENS unit certified. Linsey has attended births in many settings, including hospitals, homes, and birth centers. Her experience includes unblocked births, medicated births, VBACs, cesareans, water-birth, spontaneous labor, inductions, and losses. Linsey lives in Delaware, Ohio with her husband Ken and her two children, Tesla and Finnegan. Her Rat Terrier and Great Dane round out the family.
Jennifer Bailey has been a certified DONA Birth Doula since 2012. She has attended over 170 births. She is passionate about supporting women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth, and the early post-partum period. Jen trained in 2012 with DONA for Labor Support and in 2015 with DONA for Postpartum Support. She is Rebozo and TENS unit certified. She is also certified with Healthy Children as a Lactation Counselor. She has had the opportunity to support birth in hospitals, at home, and in the birth center in Dayton. These have included induction, spontaneous labor, water birth, cesarean and VBAC. Jen lives in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, David, her two children, Zoë and Zeke, and one sweet husky.
Hidayah Walker began her work in birth and postpartum in 2015 working on the postpartum floor of a major hospital in Cincinnati. The next year in 2016, she certified through Healthy Children, Inc. and the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice as a Lactation Counselor. She then trained as both a birth and postpartum doula through DONA International in 2017 to add a more personal, continuous level of care for birthing women and families. In 2019, Hidayah trained to become a Lamaze certified childbirth educator and also began working for the City of Columbus as a public health breastfeeding peer advocate. She has experience in spontaneous labor, inductions, cesareans, VBACS, unblocked, and medicated births. She is a proud Hilliard native, living with her loving husband, Marwan, and two sons, Imran and Abdullah.
Delainey Kicklighter trained as a birth doula in 2017. In 2018, She continued her training and became certified as a postpartum doula. Delainey is passionate about serving women from all walks of life in their pursuit of positive birth experiences. A California native, Delainey moved to Ohio and began serving the Columbus Metropolitan area in 2017. Delainey currently lives in Dublin, Ohio with her fiancé Danny and their two cats.
Deb McCann started becoming passionate about birth work in 2004 when her best friend asked her to support at her first birth. She started teaching birth education in 2012 and providing placenta encapsulation starting in 2016. In 2012 she was a surrogate for her sister in law. In October of that same year Kya was born early and passed away just 45 minutes after being born. After Kya’s death she became the regional coordinator for Sufficient Grace Ministries here in Central Ohio,offering bereavement doula support along with professional photography for families during the loss of their precious little ones. When she isn’t doing birth work her family loves to be camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, canning, riding dirt bikes or anything else to do with the outdoors. Wife of Billy since 2005 and mom to 4 boys Cody, Clayton, Colton and CJ, Her German Shepherd rounds out her family.
We believe in support for every woman who desires it; thus, we work with parents where they are, providing as much information, education, and hands on support as they desire. We have a vast array of personal experience including pregnancy loss and supporting survivors of abuse and violence, therefore we are uniquely qualified to support women through these situations with empathy and compassion.
Jen, Linsey, Hidayah, Deb, and Delainey work in partnership. When you book The Ohio Doula you get two highly trained, experienced, professional doulas. We also offer a meet your back-up night quarterly. Our system ensures you have met with and are comfortable with the person attending your birth. You will meet with two doulas prenatally and for your postpartum visit, while one doula will attend your birth. Each partnership functions on a shared call schedule with the other partners backing. .
